Gas Trains
PIP® (Power Interruption Protection Gas Train)
United States Patent No. 5,649,818
The
Banner-Day Power Interruption Protection (PIP®)
Gas Train system allows direct fired oven burners to automatically relight
without the need to purge and manually restart the oven in the event of brief
(8 seconds or less) electrical power interruptions.
PIP® system is designed to work with the Banner-Day
Automatic Igniter Sensor System and can be designed to work with any
manufacturer's DSI system.
If power is lost, the DSI system and the PIP® system close the main gas safety valves
and each burner's solenoid valve. When
power is restored, the exhaust fan and combustion blower will start, the main
gas safety shutoff valve will open, and the DSI system will relight each
burner.
The Banner-Day PIP® system is Factory Mutual approved and meets all OSHA and NFPA 86 requirements.
