Overview
The PLC has become the cornerstone of the effort to maintain competitiveness in the bakery marketplace. Banner-Day has taken its engineering expertise in combustion systems and combined it with years of experience in machine automation to provide customers with a full range of PLC-based operation solutions.

Simplicity with Advanced Control
The PLC with an operator interface provides flexible oven control that's unattainable with traditional oven-controls. B-D PLC systems provide for:

• Easy system reconfiguration
• Precise control of loader and unloader
• Full control of all oven functions, including infeed and discharge conveyors

The PLC and DSI systems enable exact control of each individual burner. This provides much finer temperature control and prevents the low fire conditions that are typically the cause of burner inefficiency and poor lateral heat.

Easy Management and Maintenance
PLC-controlled ovens benefit from easily-accessible stored product recipes and implementation of product change-over using the touch screen.

Oven maintenance is improved by the PLC's capability to diagnose and pinpoint problems and restart the oven with minimal loss of product.

Advanced diagnostic tools including alarm history are available.

PLC-Ready Format and Integrated Upgrade
Utilizing the PLC-ready format enables the power and flexibility of a PLC to be incorporated into the Automatic Igniter Sensor System at a later date, while keeping the initial system costs minimal. This option also allows for the standard Automatic Igniter Sensor System if necessary. This format also enables oven and burner control to be accomplished via the standard B-D automatic temperature control package that is supplied with the system control panel.
